FHSS Inventory Audit
Need to Assign or Verify Device?
About the Project:
For those unfamiliar with the project we have been asked to perform an audit of the College's devices (laptops and desktops) for finance, and so that OIT can transfer the college into a new tracking software. The silver lining of this project is with accurate data from an audit we can provide better service to the college and its employees.
With that in mind, we are asking for your expertise in the areas of locations, people, and scheduling in your departments. The devices in your departments are assigned to persons as stewards of these devices, some accurately and some inaccurately in our systems. We are looking to your expertise to attempt to rectify some of the inaccuracies of the device assignments through your historical knowledge as employees at BYU and the unique perspectives you bring as a college employee. Thank you for your assistance in this project!
FAQ's

Toggle ItemDo I need to be there for an audit?
No you don't, but your devices do! Make sure ALL of you're devices are in accessible locations (on your office desk for example) for our auditors when they come through your department. This includes the devices that are typically kept at home or travel with you (like your laptop). We understand that this may be inconvenient for devices that you use during your teaching so our teams will schedule a day specifically for laptops with each operating unit where we will go around during office hours to audit these devices.
If other arrangements need to be made with our team for your specific circumstance please reach out to us at fhss-deviceinventory@byu.edu

Toggle ItemWhat does an audit look like?
The audit is being broken down into two phases, the first phase (assignment and verification) is to determine basic information about the responsible party of the device from college employees, and the second phase is to determine the hardware, software and confirm the phase one information for each device.
More information about what each of these phases looks like and your role in them can be found on the Auditing Process Page.
