FHSS Computer Lab Policies

Computer Labs
- Please be respectful of other students, lab employees, and the facilities.
- Food and drink are not allowed in the labs (except in research labs & KMBL 110).
- Water bottles are okay in all labs.
- Sound must be played through headphones.
- Lab patrons are expected to follow the BYU Honor Code including Dress and Grooming Standards.
- Lab patrons must not engage in behavior that is disruptive or creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive environment for others.
- Do not relocate or alter lab computers, tables, or other FHSS property.
Appropriate Use
- FHSS computers have been provided for educational use and may not be used for commercial use or personal gain.
- Do not save files to FHSS computers; they get erased and re-configured frequently.
- Do not install software of any kind on any FHSS computer (except through "Software Center").
- Respect and observe copyright law
- Do not share passwords with anyone.
- Do not leave your workstation unattended. You are responsible for anything that happens while you are logged in.
- Remember to always log out of a computer before leaving.
Unauthorized Access
- Any form of hacking, cracking, probing, or network scanning is prohibited
- Do not access, or attempt to access files or systems you are not authorized to access.
- Lab computers are monitored and unauthorized use is reported to appropriate authorities.
FHSS Computing Services reserves the right to monitor your account and associated activities on FHSS computers without prior notice.
